Marmolada peak. Queen of the Dolomites.

Oil/Canvas 80 X 110

Being a ski enthusiast with a passion for mountains and winter sports, I could not have passed up an opportunity to paint this spectacular view of Italian Dolomites, as seen from the Marmolada glacier. As tall as 3342 meters, the glacier is one of the most stunning a majestic places I've been fortunate enough to ski at. The composition conveys a sensation of immediate presence at this remarkable height, gazing upon the splendid mountain range, ready to race down, joining the colourful crowd of other skiers. Painted with a palette knife.
