Municipal botanical garden - one of the most alluring locales in springtime Kiev - is the place where I’ve painted this piece. Lavishly sunlit glade harbours resplendently blooming lilac shrubs, while the domes of an ancient monastery that adorn the background made their mighty bells heard throughout the session. This created a remarkable fusion of beauty very young and very ancient, which I resolved to capture on canvas. From Ukraine with love!
